                                                                        MY STORY

Ami Herzer is originally from Argentina but has lived with her two beautiful children and amazing husband in Hawaii for the past 20 years.
Although she’s been practicing yoga for over 15 years and teaching for 8 years, she is still learning more and every day that yoga is not just about the bodies on the mat. Yoga is way deeper than that !
Through the study of yoga philosophy and asana, she is learning, exploring and feeling that yoga is not a performance, it's something to be lived. Yoga is about the shape of our lives, our thoughts, emotions and actions. She has been discovering that the more comfortable and at ease we feel physically, the more beautiful our thoughts become. Therefore our emotions become even more beautiful and so do our actions. The more beauty we feel, the more beauty we find around us. She often refers to "the real beauty".....the one we can only feel inside, not the one we see. One of her quotes : '' There is nothing more beautiful than a calm mind and a soft heart " ~ Ami H.
She started her teaching journey by completing a PIYO Teacher Training (Pilates & Yoga Fusion) in 2011.
A year later she completed the Sun Yoga Hawaii Teacher Training. Covering many hours of intense studies which impacted her life in many special ways.
Continuing her training, she completed a Yoga-Alliance-Registered 200-Hour Teacher Training through My Yoga Spirit (in the Jivamukti Vinyasa Lineage ) in 2014. This Training was very rich in Yoga Philosophy, Hatha Yoga and Subtle Anatomy of the Body.
To deepen her understanding of the body, she completed a workshop on Subtle Anatomy of the Body & Hands on Adjustments in 2015.
Although yoga remains her passion, in 2016 she became a certified Tabata Bootcamp Instructor.
And most recently in 2018 she completed her Advanced Yoga-Alliance-Registered 300-Hour Teacher Training through ShantiGirl Yoga Hawaii covering the deeper practices of Ashtanga Asana , Sanskrit Language, Pranayama, Kriyas, Mantra , Mudras and Japa as well as the study of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras, one of her most favorite subjects, completing then her 500-Hour Yoga Teacher Trainning.

Most recently in 2020 she completed a Yin Yoga Teacher Training which made her discovered a totally new way to experience yoga and  which is literally healing her body.
She believes deeply in this quote by Mahatma Gandhi: "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
It has inspired her in so many ways and encourages her to understand that to create a peaceful world, we must fill it with peaceful people.

SHANTI OM & NAMASTE !
